Black Profiles

A series of 7 exciting books suitable for age range 9-12. This series has been devised by TAMARIND to make role models of success directly accessible to ALL children at school and at home.

These books will bring the early reader close to Black achievers, in a direct and sensitive way. The role models in these profiles are not the lucky few superior beings, but are accessible and ordinary people. The reader will be able to identify with many of the experiences of the protagonists.

Baroness Patricia Scotland - Queens Counsel and Politician

Patricia wanted to do a job that would bring together her love of books and her desire to help people. She became a barrister and was later made Queen's Counsel - the first black woman to achieve this honor.

Patricia is now a Junior Minister in the government and sits in the House of Lords.
