Start-Up Religion - Belonging

An ideal introduction for young children to what it means to belong to a religion, and the part it plays in people's lives.

"Start Up Religion" is a series of first RE books for pupils at Key Stage One, developed specifically to support units in the RE Schemes of Work. "Belonging" looks at how children show that they belong to a club or to their school? What is it like to belong o a family? This book encourages children to think about their closest experiences of belonging before it explores what it means to belong to a religion, using examples from all the major world faiths. There is a special focus on how religions welcome someone new, and in particular on Catholic baptisms. Readers are invited to think about how children learn to belong, and about how belonging helps to make them feel special.
